On Wednesday, October 5, 2022 ISSG hosted a book talk featuring theologian and librarian Keegan Osinski about her new book Queering Wesley, Queering the Church. Osinski was joined in conversation by Professor Yannik Thiem (Columbia University), a scholar of queer religious studies.
In Queering Wesley, Queering the Church, Osinski presents a queer reading of ten John Wesley sermons, a reading which offers the church a fresh paradigm for theological innovation, while remaining in line with the tradition and legacy of Wesley that is so central and generative to Wesleyan churches.
