Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship
The Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship, established to honor the memory of Elaine Combs-Schilling (1949-2016), Professor of Anthropology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, gives ISSG graduate students an opportunity to pursue either summer archival research in support of their doctoral work, or participate in a conference directly related to their dissertation project, with a stipend of $2,000.
Selection for the fellowship is based on academic distinction in WGSS scholarship, with priority given to Ph.D. students in the humanities, social sciences, or sciences who are at the dissertation research and writing stage, whose work involves feminist or queer methodologies, and who have completed or are in the process of completing the ISSG Graduate Certificate.
Funding support for the fellowship comes from the Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fund.
