Professor Tey Meadow Wins 2025 Robin M. Williams Distinguished Lecture Award from ESS; ASA Sociology of Sex and Gender Distinguished Article Award

ISSG Executive Committee Member and Associate Professor of Sociology Tey Meadow was selected as the winner of the 2025 Robin M. Williams Distinguished Lecture Award from the Eastern Sociological Society. The award involves giving a lecture at the next ESS meeting as well as sponsorship for presentations at two campuses--allotted on a competitive basis--within the Society's jurisdiction during her year as the Williams Lecturer.

Tey also received the ASA Sociology of Sex and Gender’s Distinguished Article Award for her 2023 article, “The Fragile Male: An Experimental Study of Transgender Classification and the Durability of Gender Categories,” published in Gender and Society.
