ISSG Faculty Member Elizabeth Povinelli Gives Lecture at Inaugural Agora Lectures

April 14, 2026

The inaugural year of Agora: A Gathering of Art and Philosophy by Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève in partnership with Mousse is nearing its conclusion.

ISSG Faculty Member Elizabeth Povinelli joined Agora in January to deliver a lecture titled, "Politics & Aesthetics after Geontopolitics," available to watch HERE.

Over the course of this free and fully funded online program, conceived by Andrea Bellini and Federico Campagna, nine lecturers and eight students have engaged in weeks of discussions around some of the defining questions of the present: technology and consciousness, materiality and ecology, society and the imagination.

The first edition of Agora unfolds across four modules led by world-acclaimed thinkers and practitioners Franco “Bifo” Berardi, Federico Campagna, Nicolas Jaar, Nora N. Khan, Laura U. Marks, Jota Mombaça, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Elizabeth A. Povinelli, Hito Steyerl, and John Tresch.

The video recordings of the first lectures are now freely accessible online to artists and art enthusiasts worldwide via the Centre’s digital platform, the 5th floor. Find them here: https://agora.centre.ch/
