2021 Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship
The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (IRWGS) seeks applications for the 2021 Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship. The Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship was established in 2017 in memory of Elaine Combs-Schilling (1949-2016), feminist Professor of Anthropology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The graduate fellowship offers up to $2000 to support travel connected to summer dissertation research.

2021-22 IRWGS Graduate Fellows
The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (IRWGS) seeks applications for 2021-22 graduate fellows. Graduate fellows will be expected to participate actively in IRWGS activities and to complete a maximum of 60 hours of work per semester. Responsibilities for Fellows include coordinating graduate-focused events for the Institute, attend and help with IRWGS public programs as needed (and produce occasional pieces of writing related to these events for the IRWGS blog), and assist the IRWGS Director, Associate Director, and the Directors of Graduate Studies and Undergraduate Studies with occasional research and/or administrative tasks. Stipends will be $3000 per semester.

Fall 2021 TA Call for WMST UN3125 Introduction to Sexuality Studies

The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Columbia University announces its search for 2 Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2021 course WMST UN3125 Introduction to Sexuality Studies taught by Professor Jack Halberstam (Gender Studies and English and Comparative Literature). 


Graduate students currently enrolled in a PhD program in any Arts and Sciences Department, who are within their funding years and will not be in their Dissertation Fellowship year starting in Fall 2021 are eligible to apply, with approval from their home department.  Students beyond their funding years will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
