Joan Wallach Scott is Professor Emerita in the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. She is the author of the now classic, Gender and the Politics of History, and, more recently, The Politics of the Veil and Sex and Secularism.

In the Theory Salon we will read and discuss selections from her collection of essays: The Fantasy of Feminist History. We will think together about the place and uses of psychoanalysis in history
