The Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender at Columbia University invites you to a screening of Nisha (2025, 29min), followed by a discussion with the film's director, Kris.

Monday, April 20th, 2026 | 7:30pm | 754 Schermerhorn Extension

After a painful breakup, Nisha's friends throw her into a whirlwind of dates, but as she presses to move on, she questions whether love is the answer—or if she needs to heal herself first.

Nisha explores spaces between closure and curiosity, between moving on and looking back. Rooted in South Indian queer life, it captures the humour, melancholy, and hope in contemporary dating and chosen family.
