We congratulate Professor Julia Bryan-Wilson, ISSG Core Faculty member and Professor of Contemporary Art and LGBTQ+ Studies in the Department of Art History and Archaeology, for her co-curation of Queer Histories at the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) in Brazil. Running from December 13th, 2024 to April 13th, 2025, the show features visual artwork by a plurality of queer voices on LGBTQIA+ histories. The exhibition adopts an expansive view of queerness, enmeshing present with the past, and offers insight into envisioned queer futures. Queer Histories was recently reviewed in "A B-Side Story," published in Brazilian arts magazine Celeste.
Queer Histories has been published as an anthology and as a catalog, which are now available for purchase. To learn more about the exhibition, please visit MASP's website or read the review in the latest addition of Celeste.
