CALL FOR ISSG TEACHING ASSISTANTS

SPRING 2026

The Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender (ISSG) at Columbia University announces its search for a Teaching Assistant for the Spring 2026 offering of the Institute’s introductory course (WMST UN3125 Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies) taught by faculty member, Jack Halberstam.

Graduate students currently enrolled in a PhD program in any Arts and Sciences Department at Columbia University, who are within their funding years and are not in their Dissertation Fellowship year starting in Fall 2025 are eligible to apply with approval from their home department. Funding-eligible students beyond their initial guaranteed funding will be considered on a case-by-case basis. MA students will be considered for a grader position.

Please note that Columbia TAs may not hold more than one TA position in any one semester and may not accept additional fellowship or departmental support during the term of the TA appointment. Appointments are subject to meeting appropriate course enrollment thresholds.
